Post Update
Hey guys, its been a while. Just figured I would post an update on things. As of last summer, I've pretty much ditched shoes and noe go barefoot most of the time. Some places around me have the no shirt, no shoes, no service signs which drive me nuts. So I use sandals and if it gets way too cold, I use aqua socks. I must say, I've never felt better. My ankles and legs are better. Less lower back pain. And I get an energy boost.
My father passed away in October due to colon cancer and leukemia. Its been hard not having him around. But I keep him in my heart and memory.
My last car finally kicked the bucket. Ended up with a 2007 Kia Sportage and love it. Always wanted an SUV.
Other than that, I've been doing more homeopathic things at home. Trying to ditch the chemical pollutents. And I'm going crazy because I want winter over. I miss hanging laundry to dry outside and taking long walks. Getting claustrophobic.
Anyways, that'd about it. Missed ya guys.

Greetings Zyk, so sorry to hear about your dad,it is hard losing a loved one.I too am a bare foot fan :D .I feel much closer to mother nature this way.I love to feel mud between my toes and jump in rain puddles.I also have been known to make a quick dash to my shop in bare fee in the snow  .The only drawback is the thick callous I have on my heels,oh well at least I can run in shale. 8-)

Thanks Darkin. Its been rough without him. Is it calloused skin or just thick skin? Try using a pumice stone and pure aloe Vera gel. That helps me.

Zyk, all I know is they crack and then I peel them off a piece at a time. This happens every year at this time.I have tried the stones ect ,nothing works. If I wear shoes all the time my heels wont get hard but thats not going to happen.I wear leather moccasin's when I have to wear shoes or if its raining clogs.

I agree... Shoes suck! I only started wearing them to the shops when I turned 35yo. Lost Darkkin, I was recently told about a product called "Milky Feet" which is apparently brilliant. You where little shoes laced with magic stuff for an hour or so and apparently over the next five days sheets of dead skin lift off. I haven't tried it yet myself because it is up to $30 a pop, but I know of a girl who religiously uses it once a month and hasn't had feet like you and I since. You can Google it.

Condolences on the passing of your Dad, Zyk.

I live and breathe shoes and hate being without them but that's a cultural thing I guess. Shoes off means you are either sleeping or that somebody died; we take off our shoes when mourning.

Speaking about mourning I am so very sorry to hear of your father's passing. That must have been, and still be, a real shock. BDE, may his memory be a blessing to you forever.

I wouldn't dare walk outside without shoes. My feet would get cut to shreds from all the broken glass and general detritus that seems to litter the pavements round here. Don't think any of you mentioned "baffies" or slippers to give them their non Scottish name. The only time I dont have mine's on in the house is when im either in bed or in the shower.

To be honest, I would be more reluctant to walk around bare footed in this day and age with hypodermic needle use such a common thing. But traditionally, I like to feel the Earth beneath my feet. It makes me feel more connected to the whole...

I love slippers, and ug boots, but only wear them in the Winter when my feet feel the cold through the floor.
