The movie Near Dark is kind of an underrated, good old fashioned 80's horror flick but it was different to see how it wasn't exactly the "typical" vampire movie. In 1987 this horror film was released. Some of the major actors that are starred in this film are; Lance Henriksen, Tim Thomerson, Jeanette Goldstein, Bill Paxton, Jenny Wright, and Adrian Pasdar. A young man from Oklahoma named Caleb is entranced by a pallid beauty named May. Just when he thinks he's going to lucky that night, she puts the "bite on him." Caleb's life starts a slow decent into a nomad's traveling lifestyle with a dash of bloody decadense as his new vampiric family tries to initiate him into his forced transformation. The movie Lost Boys is a 1987 horror film about two teenage boys and their mother who move from Arizonan to Santa Carla, California (the unofficial murder capital of the world) to live with their grandfather. While the mother, Lucy, is being seduced by a nocturnal video store owner, Max; the older teenager, Michael finds himself being initiated into a gang of vampires. The younger brother, Sam, enlists the help of two vampire hunters, The Frog Brothers, to save both his mother and brother. Although considered a horror film, I consider this movie a fun dark comedy with campy lines like, “What, you don't like rice? Tell me Michael, how could a billion Chinese people be wrong?”, “If you try to stop us, or vamp out in any way, I'll stake you without even thinking twice about it!”, and “Don't ever invite a vampire into your house, you silly boy. It renders you powerless.” Directed by Joel Schumacher, and stars: Jason Patric, Corey Haim, and Kiefer Sutherland, and co-stars Jami Gertz, Corey Feldman, Dianne Wiest, Edward Herrmann, Alex Winter, Jamison Newlander, and Barnard Hughes. The movie Insatiable (2006) has Harry Balbo, flange salesman, who witnesses a killing by a sexy female vampire (Tatiana) in his neighborhood alley. Nobody believes him, including the police. Obsessed by the violence and horror, Harry uses the Internet to contact a vampire hunter, named Strickland, who just happens to be living in the same building as Harry. What does Harry do with the beautiful vampire once he finds her? Stakes her? No, curiosity and attraction leads him to have mercy on this seductress, but what to do with a cold blooded killer…. Cage her and feed her cute bunnies. But how long can this last? This is one of the better campy vampire movies. Tatiana brings out some good points about vampiric needs and how we all deserve to be treated. This film is another dark comedy with just enough gore for some to call it horror. A must have in your collection. Starring: Sean Patrick Flanery, Charlotte Ayanna, and Michael Biehn. Review by This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The movie Twilight (2008) was directed by Catherine Hardwicke and has Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Billy Burke in the film. Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) risks everything when she falls in love with a vampire.  Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) is a vampire, but he at first seems like any other guy and doesn't have fangs and his family is unique in that they choose not to drink human blood. Edward eventually like any ususal vampire finds he has to try and control his "primal" instincts for the blood of his beauty. Now how long can this last? he finds out when a clan of new vampires come to town and threaten to disrupt their way of life.

The movie Interview With the Vampire (1994) was directed by Neil Jordan and has Tom Cruse, Brad Pitt, Christian Slater, and Kirsten Dunst. Louis de Pointe du Lac (Brad Pitt) who is a vampire tells his epic life story to a modern day journalist (Christain Slater) about love, betrayal, loneliness, and hunger. Lestat de Lioncourt (Tom Cruse) goes to great effort to convince Louis to join him as an equal vampire companion. Louis is at first reluctant but finally gives in and becomes a vampire only to regret it afterward. They travel together and eventually find a child, Claudia (Kirsten Dunst) who is made into a vampire by Lestat who tries to make Louis happy. Things get out of hand when they find a theatre of vampires and tragedy befalls Claudia. Betrayal, love, regret and loneliness dominate thruout this film as they all deal with their hunger differently and relationships change.
